Project Frustration

Project frustration, it happens to every project manager. 🤦🏻‍♀️

When your project isn’t progressing quite like you hoped it can be easy to fall into a less than ideal mindset.

I’ll tell you what doesn’t help make this better:

❌ Sitting at your desk, staring hopelessly at a stale project plan.
❌ Sending passive aggressive Slack messages to your team.
❌ Complaining about your stakeholders with no solution.
❌ Ignoring the problem and spending the rest of the day scrolling social media.

So, how do you deal with it?

🌟 You need a perspective reset which is best achieved by removing yourself mentally from the project.

Here are my favorite ways to do this:

✅ Go for a walk WITHOUT my phone.

✅ Watch a silly video (I have a favorite video of my 2-year old nephew making choo-choo train noises ->> it's adorable, hilarious, and grounded in reality).

✅ Call a friend and talk about something not related to work.

✅ Write a list of things I am grateful for.

How do you reset your perspective?
