Why Project Management?

Over the past 3 years I have created over 150 videos about the project management experience.

➡ Some of you know the back story, but for those of you who don’t, here we go:

In February of 2020 I was laid off from my Project Manager role at a tech startup.

Over the year prior, I had completely fallen in love with the art of project management and I desperately wanted to land there again.

To take my mind off of the horrors of pandemic job searching, I started a blog about project management.

A blog that was really a letter to myself earlier in my career.

That’s because I still acutely felt the stress of not knowing how to navigate the tricky landscape of startup projects, and I wanted to put together a resource that would help others in similar situations.

A resource that I never had.

I wanted to speak to people in a voice that was human and met them where they were.

I wanted to give aspiring project managers encouragement to pursue their dreams and assurance that they didn’t need to have it all figured out.

Most of all, I wanted to be real; transparent about my failures and generous with my discoveries.

The blog developed into a video, which grew into a channel, which led to subscribers, friends and clients.

Over the years I have had the privilege of answering hundreds of questions and connecting with amazing project managers all over the world. I have even met and hugged some of them in person!

My channel is still quite humble as I have allowed it to grow organically over the years.

(Truthfully, I’m not great at self-promotion).

But for me it’s been a success.
