If I could start over, here’s what I would do
If I were to do it all over, here's what I would do in Year One of my business:
✅ Read and internalize the book “Lean Business Planning” by Tim Berry.
✅ Reach out to my network to check in and let them know about my freelancing status, following up at appropriate intervals.
✅ Set up a business bank account and link it to a basic bookkeeping software like QBO.
✅ Start posting on LinkedIn immediately to build my personal brand and connect with folks.
✅ Get super clear on my target market, then strategically connect with the decision makers at these organizations.
✅ Frequently have conversations with my target market, asking specific questions to uncover their needs and my opportunity to create services to help solve their problems.
✅ Start an email list and maybe even launch a newsletter (depending on my goals).
✅ Join a local professional organization to network in person.
