Build online

10 years ago I began building online, but I quit because I wasn't seeing results.

(I started with a food blog 🍪).

I didn't understand what I know now:

👉 You don't need to know everything.

👉 Don't compare yourself to people who are ahead of you in the process.

👉 It takes time. Lots and lots of time and trial and error and crickets and consistency.

The truth is, if you want to build here, the first thing you need to realize is that it's a BUILD.

It takes time and maybe some money.

That's why my strategy has always been to have multiple income streams so I can support myself while I work on this passion of mine.

My retainer clients help me pay the bills, while my other income sources fund my business while I'm building.

I'm now 4 years into my second time around with this building online thing.

Literally everything from SEO to "the funnel" to content creation has been a masterclass.

I'm learning a lot through experimentation and it isn't always easy.

👉 I've produced content that flopped.

👉 I've released MVPs that weren't perfect.

👉 I've launched events that literally no one showed up to.

But through that I've learned how important it is to detach from expectations of perfection and correlating results with my own self worth. Instead, I view it all as data that's helping me move forward. It's one the best reframes you can have for yourself when building online.

Another good one is to remember that the people you see who have fully branded everything with professional photos and webinars with thousands of attendees, well, they are likely in years 10+ of building their businesses and have entire teams to help them.

Use them as inspiration, but don't compare yourself to them. 😉

So if you're just getting started, I want to offer you some encouragement today. It feels like a lot, and it is, but your work will pay off if you keep going. 💫
