Working with purpose

I used to wonder if there were driven business people who cared about more than money for the sake of money.

My first couple of jobs after college left me feeling sad and alone as I deeply contemplated if life as an adult would always simply be a never-ending pursuit of “more.”

When I launched my first business in my 20s, I vowed to care about more than making a bunch of money. I wanted to build something honest, valuable, and sustainable. I wanted to provide jobs, teach people, and continue learning myself.

I ran the business like this for a few years, but then burned out and made the choice to re-enter the workforce. Again, I was faced with the same questions around business, greed, and ego.

After a few curveballs, I once again found myself self-employed as a freelance project manager. But this time I was determined to find more people like me. People who believed in something bigger, a purpose and a vision that involved more than dollar signs.

Well, I’m happy to report that there are plenty of folks like this out there.

During the past four years I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with purpose-driven entrepreneurs who are actively building high impact organizations.

I have advised, collaborated, coached, contributed, and of course “project managed” with these lovely people.

And while we understand that money is necessary in order to build, it’s not pursued from a greed or ego standpoint.

So if you're like me and wondering if you're alone, let me be the one to assure you that you're not!

There are plenty of people like us, we just have to do a little work to find them. 💙
