Trust that wherever you're at is precisely where you need to be

In 2020 my life changed forever when I was laid off from my tech startup job.

I was a new single mom living in rural Arkansas. It was a difficult time.

A side hustle I had created years before kept me afloat during the first several months.

And while I survived, I began to build a second income stream as I pursued a path as a freelance project manager.

In all honestly, I didn't exactly know what it meant to be a "freelance project manager", but I moved forward with the power of my own vision, a plan to get things done, and a lot of trust in the process.

Four years later, I'm very proud of how far I've come. I've built a new life and provided for my child and myself.

When I look back on the person I was four years ago, I want to give her a hug and tell her all the hard work will pay off in ways she can't even begin to understand.

I want to remind her that the journey will be her own, it doesn't need to look like anyone else's and she needs no ones approval.

I want to assure her that there will be lots of mistakes and stumbling blocks and frustrating moments, but those are the things that will make her stronger and able to open new doors with more opportunities.

But as we all know, we can't go back in time, so instead I'm sharing my story with you here, to help you as you navigate your own road, freelancing or not.

I encourage you today to trust that wherever you're at is precisely where you need to be.

And wherever you are supposed to land will happen in the right time.

Keep going 💫 *A photo of my daughter and me at the start of this journey. I do it for her and I do it for me. 💙
