Make space for what matters

There was a long list of reasons why I shouldn’t take off last week:

  • Emails and direct messages to respond to.

  • Meetings that could have been held.

  • Content to create.

  • Projects to tackle.

  • Ideas to pursue.

  • Work…

And yet, there was only one reason why I decided to take off anyway:

My little girl.

Two weeks ago she said to me: “Mom, this is my last spring break in the single digits, could we please spend some time together when you’re not on the computer?”

It's no secret I work a lot and I always have. Turning it off is difficult for me.

But my daughter's question was all the nudge I needed. I started planning our mini vacation later the same day.

And because I’ve set up my life in a way where I have the flexibility to take off and the financial preparation for moments like this, it was entirely possible.

I’m happy to report the two of us enjoyed the best impromptu spring break vacation with my phone on silent and my laptop packed away.

Time may not stop, but YOU can choose when to pause.

Work may never end, but YOU can choose when to say enough.

Make space for what matters. 💙
